Many local talent will be showcased in the pre-game entertainment for the 2021 NRL Grand Final between the Penrith Panthers and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Kate Miller-Heidke will sing the Australian national anthem ahead of kick-off, with Cold Chisel’s Ian Moss also taking center stage.

Miller-Heidke represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted and proud to sing in the grand finale – it is a huge honor.”

Top DJs, The Stafford Brothers, didgeridoo player William Barton and Timmy Trumpet will also be included in the entertainment alongside a 40-piece orchestra.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said the game is eagerly awaiting the first Grand Final in Brisbane in the NRL era.

“This is a historic week for the Queensland Rugby League as we will light up some of Brisbane’s best-known landmarks with iconic images from our season. It’s also an opportunity to say thank you to the fans and the Queenslanders for welcoming us in 2021, ” he said.

“The Grand Final is more than a match day, it’s a weeklong celebration for clubs, players and especially the fans.

“This week is also an opportunity for us to give a boost to the local economy. Visitors from all over Queensland will be in Brisbane for the grand finale. “
